a preview

this is the v0 preview: how selv works while it is being tested, in plain words. it is not legal advice, and it has not yet been reviewed as final.

where your account lives

your account is kept by selv’s own service, in selv’s database. your profile, addresses, orders, messages, cases and settings are stored there, and a cookie in your browser keeps you signed in.

the services selv uses

AWS hosts selv and its operational logs. Supabase hosts the database, signs you in and stores uploaded files. Google signs you in if you choose to continue with Google, and Resend delivers emails. When enabled, PostHog collects limited site usage and technical error information to help improve reliability. We do not send private messages, payment proofs or form contents to analytics, use advertising trackers, or record your browsing session.

what is public

your name, handle, bio and profile photo, your public boards and fits, the pieces you like and who you follow are public. private boards, your email address, delivery addresses, messages, orders and payment proofs are not.

who sees what when you buy

when you order, the label you buy from sees your delivery details and the payment proof you upload, so it can confirm and deliver that order. people at selv see what a payment review, a report or a support case is about when they handle it.

files

payment proofs, a label’s payment QR and seller application files are private, and are only shown to the people allowed to see them. product photos and videos, published profile photos and label images are public.

email

selv emails you about your account, including confirming your address, resetting your password, changes to how you sign in, a reply from selv to something you asked, and a review or fit of yours selv has hidden, and about your orders, payments and messages. message and back-in-stock emails can be turned off in preferences & notifications; account, order and payment emails cannot.

closing your account

ask to close your account from account details. from then on your profile, and any label you own, are hidden, and you can change your mind until selv starts deleting it. a person at selv deletes the account once no order, return, refund, support case, report about something you posted, or commission your label owes is still open, and at least 14 days have passed since you asked. that page shows what is still open, and who has to act on it.

what deleting removes

deleting an account removes the way you sign in, your email address and your settings; your name, bio and profile photo, so your profile reads “former member”; and your boards, fits, likes, follows, blocks and saved addresses. your handle is never given to anyone else. reviews you wrote come down from every list and rating they were in, and selv keeps them on record. messages you sent stay for the people you wrote to, shown as from “a former member”.

what selv keeps after deleting

selv keeps, unchanged: your orders with the name, phone and address they were sent to; receipts, refunds and returns; support cases and what you wrote in them; statements, commission payments and payment details; payment proofs and every other piece of evidence; and selv’s own record of what happened, which can include your earlier profile words. an invitation to sell that was sent to your email address and never used keeps that address, as selv’s record of the invitation. no end date for keeping these has been set yet, and this page will say when one is.

contacting selv

write to selv from support about anything, about one of your orders, or about a decision on your account, including while it is restricted or closing. only you and the people at selv who handle it read the case and the screenshots you add, and selv’s replies reach you in selv and by email.
